Celleron 300-A only runs @ 338 or 356 (85MHz FSB!! NO UDMA33/66 but PIO-4)
Celly running @ 450 goes through all CPU tests in SiSoftSandra but hangs in any 3-D application!
It's temp is only 35 degr.Celcium (32-33 degr - normal!!)
It's voltage=2,1v Can't change!

HELP PLS! (via e-mail if possible!)

THX

It could be a cooling issue! What cooling do you have? (I know that your temps aren't high, but still...)

What video card do you have??? It could be the reason that it crashes in 3D-apps. And how fast is your RAM? PC66? PC100?

(Forgive me for NOT answering by e-mail, but I think that would spoil the whole concept of a forum, where everybody should be able to see what is going on, and maybe learn something!) :)

Temp looks ok really.... I'm thinkin more along the lines of it needs more voltage but like stated, it can't be changed :(

Yep, you probably need 2.2 or 2.3 volts to get to 450 mhz.

Standart cooling (Box Celly)
Tried 1.1 w cooler on heatsink, box off - didn't help!

Been there..... my 300A would only hit 374MHz (83 FSB) at default voltage. Had a twin fan/heatsink on it. It wouldn't even post @ 100 FSB. Cooling definitely wasn't the problem in my case (No pun intended).

As my mb supports over 1 GHz, I've since replaced it with a cC0 Celly II which runs solid @ 945 MHz. I'm waiting for the Arctic Silver and 3rd case fan to arrive in the mail to make my assault on the 1 GHz mark. =)

I got the mb, cpu, Soltek SL02A++ slocket, and Golden orb (all separately) on e-BAY for under $200. Where this stuff has gotten so inexpensive why stick with the old 300A?

If you enjoy what you have, do. If you don't, upgrade! =)
