I'm pretty sure from what I've read that it is better [alpha] but how much?

Will I possibly get my 700 to 1ghz instead of 933?

I think it's a temp thing since my setup is solid otherwise!

Currently my cpu idles at 30c and under load hits 40c give or take a degree or two of course!

On the surface- based on reading- yes it's a lot better. Since I haven't owned them and done tests myself all I can say is that the reviews I have read indicate the Alpha as a much more capable heatsink in the testing environment.

I have tried the gorbs and my personal experience with them is that they are a piece of crap. About on par with the Intel oem hsf. I saw no real improvement in 3 instances.

I am currently using the Alpha PEP66 units on 2 machines and they are the best I've seen. On my dual processor machine with 2x PIII-700@1Gz, running 2 concurrent Seti programs the temps never exceed 35c even after days.

Thanx tim I've ordered an alpha and it should be here by wednesday!

Can't wait to try it out!

Would you happen to know If my 250w ps is enough or should I maybe get a 300w or better? The reason I ask this is that when I run intensive benchmarks my case fans have a slightly different sound to them?[Yes their loud as hell but at least I know when their on! lol]

Thanx

I don't think that will be a major issue. My PIII box does the same and it's got a 300W supply.
