prometia stand alone, or prometia w/ case? i dont see the point of paying the extra 100 or so for the case.. or am i wrong?

Yes the prometia case is terrible. I have a Lian-Li case sitting on the sidelines right now, sometime after xmas I should be getting my rig moved back into that with a shiny new Lian-Li kit for the prommy ;)
In my opinion the answer to the original question is Prometia.

If i get a pommy, should i be expecting to go past 2.35thz(which im capable of going now w/ air

I would certainly expect that you could get further on a prommy than you can on air, although how far you can get will also depend on your stepping. The great thing about the prommy is that you will be able to run alot more voltage while still getting some good temps, which should help a ton.

Yeah I am pretty pleased with this stepping. I actually think I have a bit more in this thing, I just haven't had the time to work on it alot lately. I would love to break 2.8ghz stable and with a little more voltage I think I might be able to ;)

They aren't talking about the big deal of 2.35, its you said THZ..not GHZ.

Nod. thz=terahertz=1000 gigahertz=very amazing oc ;)

that would be a pretty fast processor. i dont think it will ever happen though. THz is out there.

ahh sorry, wasnt even paying attentino to that. :x As you see in my sig it is ghz not thz :p I know 2.35 isnt that great, i was just asking if I can expect to push it much more. Im not really to worried if this cpu will push that much.. i see the prommy as a long term comp investment. as i can keep using it w/ diff socket changes.

Long term I am sure you will get plenty of performance out of it. Even short term you are likely to get a decent hike in speed ;)
promie all the way, plus they are better for r404 or r507 moddin them the compressors are better
