View Full Version : Cdrom Troubles When Overclocking, Any Clues?

Hi,

When I overclock my Cele 433 to 540 with an 83MHz FSB, my son's cdrom games start to hang. Is this because the IDE bus is also increased? Is there a way around this problem like decreasing the speed of the PCI/IDE bus? Otherwise the system is stable at this overclock.

Running at 83 usually causes problems as the PCI busses are running at 41-42 and some components don't like it. Some boards will let you run at 1/3 but 27 doesn't do so well either. I would drop back to 75 fsb.
