I am looking at getting a P!!! 700e for my P3V4X but i am not sure for the 700e or the 800. I would think the 800 would o/c more but that is also what i thought about the Celeron II 700...very wrong. if i do get a 700...will i be able to hit 1050 just air cooled? My P3V4X can only go up to 150fsb...i have the new clock generator winbond. I also have a MSI 6905 Master slotkey. Need to improve performance...my Celeron II 700 @ 877 isn't allowing my Radeon 32mb DDR @ 200/400 to perform well at all. Hopefully @ 150fsb my bandwidth will make the differnece i need. Looking to spend around 150-170 dollars.
Typically the 700e is more overclockable than the 800. Hitting 1050 is no easy feat with either one. You will need a 1st rate heatsink like an Alpha, with the optional high speed fan, and a LOT of case cooling to even make it reasonable odds. Once these things are resolved, then it's up to the chip itself, the ram, the MB, and the peripherals. All of these things are going to have to cooperate for stable operation at these high FSBs.

I just bought and installed a 700e this past week from buy.com and so far can only get it to 980 with 1.75vcc. Letting it burn in for couple of weeks with Prime95. Mine is the cBO stepping and you should try to get the cCO stepping if you can. From all the posts that I read before buying mine, you will have a better chance of hitting 1Ghz with a 700 than with the 800. You are still going to have about a 50/50 shot at getting a chip that will or will not get what you want. Wishing you happy success.
