It depends on which way you run the current through. One way and one side will be the hot one, reverse it and it becomes the cold one.

You got to test it too tell that is the only way you will now.
Put it on WB then without putting it on CPU test it about 20 secounds. Then tuch the cpu side if is cold you got it right if is hot revise the wiers.

Look for a j cupling or an rtd probe it will go on the back side of heatsink next to cpu but not under it. Some of the readouts goin a 5 1/4 bay.

so how much more of an overclock did the pelt give you compared to what you were using before?
spiritedandy

without water cooling i was 2358mhz @ 205 fsb
with water cooling i reached 2461mhz @ 214 fsb
with a 226w pelt + chipset block i reached 2526mhz @ 219 fsb
i have not pushed it to its limit yet i think i can reach 220 or 221 fsb
:D
A little (late but) handy tip that works for all TECs normally encountered with overclocking is:
Use a regular 1.5V battery and power the TEC(red wire to +), check out which side gets cold and not.
Pretty easy and relatively harmless.

good idia
put a mark on hot side or cold side so you no
just connect it with finger touching one side, if its hot its hot, cold its cold then disconnect the power and mark that side.
nice system im very interested
those temps look great
so you get 18oc thats running 1.85v thats nice
have you tried running 2.2v into it yet.
you got heaps of vcore left i reconnd you could get to 2.7g or 2.8 with high vcore
i have a maze4-1 the peltier arrives next week for me
do you have any problems with condensation forming.
any sexy pics for us
so what do you use to power the 226w peltier,
do you run everything off the Q-Tec 550w Dual Fan Gold Moded ps

whats volt rating of the tec

kayl i use a meanwell power supply@13v.........to power my 226w tec.....totaly separate from my psu.....
i have not tried above 1.85 v as thats as high as i can go.....
but everything is on order for a volt mod as i type .....:D

lclarck2074 lol as i said 13v on the tec :D :D
i bought it from a uk site as thats where i live
www.over-clock.co.uk
on my 130w peltier if i put the red on the Left hand side wires facing towards me, and the cold side faces up, when my 226w peltier arrvies i check and tell for that one

that 26 amps on that PSU that is cutting it close
even the meanwell it is slightly overcurrent it
how did you insulate your socket, i was trying to insulate my socket yesterday, i used rtv coating around base of socket and where the temp sensor is, got some diaelectric grease on the way to put where the cpu pins go, i put foam all around the socket and booted, had too much foam and crashed instantly, die wasn touching heatsink ArRRRRRRRRRRRR
gonna give it a go, another day, with thinner sealed foam. did you get the maze4-1 with the proper coldplate. wondering how you insulated the outside edge of the coldplate the top of the heatsink doenst have much of an edge so i think im gonna find it hard to insulate the outer edge of the cold plate.

i did the same i used dow connering conformal coating for center socket / out side socket and the back of the motherboard........ i coated the pins in it there as well...
then i filled the socket holes with dieletric grease ........and put it on the pins of cpu as well .......i used a pre cut gasket for maze 4 cpu from here
http://store.over-clock.com/Peltiers___Accessories.html
hope this helps andy:)
thanks i need that gasket its too hard to make your own

no probs kayl let me know how you get on :D
well i just found a MeanWell S-320 Power Supply 12v@25A
and its the smallest world my friend works their so i should be able to get it at cost price, just trina order that gasket kit maze4-1 from danger den 20US but 24US delivery, tring to get that post cost down then im all set to go

well on the 226w tec if i place the red wire on the left facing me the hot side faces up.?
no trend, so i just power for a second and can tell that way

hey you wouldnt by any chance have the equipment to measure what the current draw is at 13v (would be more than 226w peltier)
also what volts can you adjust you power supply under load, mine was 9.22v to 13.55v, if only i had a current meater that could measure 25A i could work out the exact power
i know at 226 at 12v is about 18.8A and i think on spec sheet the max current is 25A (i think) and max volts 15.1v
i estimate that at 13.55 is about 21A
so i can get P=vi 13.55x21= would be about 284w tec

Yes youre math is right but rember you will still nead to leave a little head room so you doint burn the PS upor TEC.
And rembern difrent TECs run on difrent volt and amps.
i maybe rong but the load meaning amps donot chang withe the volts.
