Strange O/C problem ---- HELP !!!!

I have a PIII 450 @ 600 (4.5x133FSB). It's been at this speed stable for two months now. Two days ago I installed a new Maxtor 30GB hard drive. Since then it's had a strange problem. It passes CPU Stability test for 13 hours, Prime95 for 12 and Seti@home for 24 hours. Temps while running these programs are 37C-40C. However, today it's locked up four times on me. Before the new hard drive it was completly stable.


Any Ideas? Please Help!!!

Did you get the latest HD controller driver for your new Maxtor HD to work with your mobo?..

Never thought of that. I'll give it a try....

I do have the latest driver. What else could be the cause? If I let CPU Stability test or Seti@home or Prime95 run over night when I get up the pc is fine.Yet when I use the computer it locks up after an hour or so.....

Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated......

What is your PCI clock at???

Did you UN overclock to see if you still have the same prolb???If so Bad Drive

The PCI clock is within spec at 33mhz. Do you think it could be the Mator ATA 100 adapter card?
