What programs can I use to get the core temp of my PIII 700? I just read up on it and want to know what the temp is in my chip. Also what is max voltage of PIII 700? I can get it up to 980@1.95 and I want to go higher but I dont wanna burn my chip. I'm thinking of getting a 85watt Peltier for it.

On the quest for knowledge!!

I use and prefer Motherboard Monitor 5.04 which will give you the temps you are looking for and much more. http://mbm.livewiredev.com/

I believe the sspec for coppermine core is rated to 2.1vcc, however most would say that 1.95v is max on a 1.65v processor. Your temps will go up as you increase your voltage.

I am running a P3 cBO 700 at 1.80v 980Mhz. My temps when using Prime95 Torture Test run an average of 38-40C. The sspec for maximum temp for P3-700 can be found here: http://support.intel.com/support/processors/sspec/p3p.htm
Most would say to keep the temp under heavy load below 45C. The lower the temp the better chance you have of running higher FSB.
