Video Card Compatibility

Okay, I feel sort of stupid for asking but will an ATI 9600XT fit the dell that I have (Dimension 8100) which currently has a 32MB Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200?

32meg ti4200 i dont think they ever made a 32meg one

I dont think they have made a 32mb card since the Geforce2 era. Anyway, it all depends. If it has agp4x you are fine. If its a 2x board, you can use it.

You mean size-wise? Yeah, it'll fit.

Will it work? Probably. From what I've read, the 8100 series has 4xAGP capabilities, so it should be just fine :)

I also heard that ATI cards have many problems with DELLs b/c of driver issues and that is why you see a lot of them equipped with Geforces.

Proof please.... Have not heard of ATi cards having problems with DELL machines....
