Why can't i get AGP 8x on my NF7-s?

In the bios there are only options for 2x > 4x > Auto

I have a GF4 ti4200 so whats the problem ?

Thx for any replies :)

I believe on the manual it says something about if you have 8x AGP you either select auto or 4x. Can't remember 100%, double check your manual. :)

Oh yeah, make sure your ti4200 is 8x cuz mine is 4x.

Most likely it's b/c your video card is only 4x compatible.

Zazuk: I thought some companies released 8x Ti4200 cards. (MSI?) I could be mistaken though.

Yeah, it has to be your card doesn't support it. Until a few days ago, I was using a GeForce3 Ti200, and it would not give the option for 8x, because it wasn't an 8x card. Installing a Radeon 9500 Pro, and 8x is there.

Yes, there are defnitely 8X 4200's. Apparently yours isn't one of them. As was said already, you will see no performance gain from 8x on a 4200. Don't worry about it.

I believe the 8x agp Ti4200-4400-4600 is called GF4 ti4800... It's a bit faster than 4200 at stock speeds.... Correct me if I'm wrong...

Shouldn't be all that faster, but yes, it's called the ti4800. Only speed gain is from AGP 8x though, which is really very little, as mentioned before. Kinda a deceptive label...
