lapping Northbridge HSF

So, do i go about doing this the same way i did with the CPU heatsink?

i take the northbridge off, and then clean off the gunk on it by using rubbing alcohol, or nail polish or isopropyl. and then i sand it down using fine grit sand paper. is that how you do it?

and how to i clean off the actual northbridge? with a cpu, i would just take the cpu out and clean it. but i cant (obviously) do that to the northbridge considering that it is attached to the motherboard.

So any advice would be great here =)
and i would also end up using AS5 right?

Are you refuring to lapping the northbridge heatsink or the attual north bridge its self??

If you want to lap the hsink then its the same as lapping a cpu sink.
