Is it better to have 2 x 256 ram chips or 1 x 512 ram chip for overclocking? Is one combination better than the other? Both would be PC3200. Thanks.

Does your mobo support dual channel?
if so you need identicle sticks in the appropriate slots to run dual, it will be identified on boot and there would be a setting in the bios to set it to dual.
I am not sure why anyone would run dual on an AMD though, it would benefit the cpu at 800 or higher fsb. Although some may argue the fact I found my ram with tighter timings to be a bottle neck so I am running looser timings on dual with a much improved bandwidth.
