when I clock my Proc. P3 650E (SL3NM / CA2) to 806 Mhz (x124) , 1.8 V it will not "cold" boot, but at 780 (x120) it will ... (and once trough te bios @ 780 , setting it to 806 is no prob)
But overall the system runs stable @ 806 , so can anyone tell me how to resolve this ?
my mobo is a ASUS CUBX , Mem 256 MB PC 133 CAS222 / cooler Alpaha PAL 6035 / Geforce DDR / UW SCSI disks on Adaptec 2940 UW

Unfortunately, this has been a problem with some of the ASUS boards. What happens is that the motherboard only recognizes the CPU's default voltage when it first POST's and doesn't recognize any higher voltages that you may have set in the BIOS until after POSTing. So, you're CPU actually requires more than 1.65V to initially get started at your higher speed.
There may be a way to change the default voltage on your CPU but it would probably invole running small wires between certain pins and maybe even cutting off or bending certain pins...probably not worth your time to mess with. I will describe how I handle this problem on my CUSL2(would probably work on CUBX also). It may not be convenient but I'm not sure what else you could do. Boot at the lower speed. Once it gets past the POST screen(the very first one), hit CTRL-ALT-DEL. This will get you back to the post screen except this time you should go into the BIOS setup. Change the voltage and FSB, hit F10, and hit enter(to save changes). Now you will hopefully boot at the higher speed since this was a "warm" boot. Good Luck!
