PII 233@324 : Intel AL440LX mobo but I have changed the quartz that commands the clock generator. I replaced the old 14.31MHz quartz with a 18.432 one. Initially, with softFSB, I could change beetween 66.6 and 80 MHz FSB. Now I can change it beetween 18.432/14.31*66.6=85.8 and 103. But over 72, it hangs (i haven't yet changed the fan so i'using intel's original fan). Because it is an intel mobo, i can't change the CPU multiplier. But changing the quartz does some problems : the windows clock is 18.432/14.31=1.29 time faster. It takes only 45 (real) seconds to the windows clock to be increased of 60 seconds. And this win clock controls all : for example, in 3DMark99, all the demo is 1.29 time faster, including sound. I actually try to find a mean to put a second quartz to make this clock normal. Anything else : I have put a swich that allows me to change the quartz while windows is running. And last : with the 18.432 quartz, the com-plugged modem does not work. Thank you for reading this and excuse any misspellings, I'm a french poweruser...
