I have a Pentium 3 motherboard produced from Compaq 1998-1999 and It goes up too 550 mhz only and i can only see the FSB settings on the board and my BIOS wont let me overclock.... My Processor is a Pentium 2 350 mhz. What do you think that I can do to overclock it.... There may be some jumpers hiding or something..... Im a beginner at Overclocking

My Dad had a Compaq once and didn't like it. They are for the most part, nonstandard as far as I could tell. Look in your manual or surf to their website and check, but I'm betting that there is little chance it'll do much overclocking. Your bet shot would be to run a 75 MHz bus since the clock multiplier is locked on that 350. If you can find jumpers for 75 bus, then good luck! If not, too bad!

Well the thing is that the processor is not from Compaq my brother bought my processor seperately which came from intel pentium 2 350mhz but my motherboard from compaq is a pentium 3 board..... the Front Side Buz settings are located on their and on the case when it slides off it tells me how to set the settings like to get 550 mhz out of it..... And I would do exactly what it says too but it wont work.... What should I do

Ok, I might be a little fuzzy about the P-II 350. It might actually already be running default at a 100 bus. If so, disregard what I said about running it at 75, because I was originally thinking the default was 66 MHz for that chip. Sorry for any confusion.

I don't know specifically about that motherboard, but I'm guessing when you changed the jumpers to a higher CPU clock speed on that mobo, that it's only changing the clock multiplier. Since the chip is probably clock locked, that is not going to work. You'll need to figure out if you can the bus speed to a higher setting and leave the multiplier at default.

Well I just read an article on my Pentium 2. The way to overclock is to unlock the internal clock.... How would I do that and also another thing is how would I up the voltage..... I have a box labeled as Powered Header Switch
