I recently aquired a Cel 633/Asus slotket and Golden Orb combo. This was tested on an Abit BE6-II and ran at 950Mhz. I installed it on my Abit BX6-II (QR bios) and can't get it to go properly. It boots at 950 then at Win Logo gets blue screen after any key goes to desktop and another blue screen after any key load s desktop etc. My question is whether anyone can give an idea as to if this is hardware or software or related to both.
My system is ABIT BX -6 II ,384 mhz PC133,ATI Rage 16 Video ,Windows 98 (first edition)& 10meg Quntum ata33 harddrive.
Thanks kindly for any insight .

If you have a Vcore adjustment in the bios you might want to try bringing it up some. Since you didn't mention your current setting, I am assuming that it is still at the default. Try 1.75-1.85v Vcore and see if it cures your problem, or at least makes it go further before the crash. You might want to up the I/O voltage to 3.5v or so for testing as it could be related to either or both.

It sounds to me like you are running a Sound Blaster Live! If you are, the problem is the drivers (old drivers cause a blue screen anytime the system wants to access the sound card.) The new drivers from www.soundblaster.com fix this problem with Coppermine based CPU's.
If that isn't your problem, don't know what to tell ya...
