Hello gentlemen, I bought a 700e slot1 retail about a year ago. CPUID says it's a stepping "3". I have an Asus P3B-f (which I really like) and 128meg PC150 Kingmax. Well, I have never been able to get past 805mhz (7x115) with any stability. It will not even POST at x133. So, I contacted Intel and they agreed to send me another one. So, do you guys think I would be better to send in my current processor and hope they send me a gem in return (at least would like to hit 7x133. Or should I wait till the prices come down on the 10x100 (which would be my other choice, if I decided to purchase another CPU)? Thanks.
So what did you tell them to get a new 700. I cant believe youd tell them it wont run at 133 when its rated for 100fsb.

Well, I told them that it was unstable, which was true, because it would sometimes hang even at default speed - whereas a previous 600e I had ran without such problems. That seemed to satisfy them.
Now, does anyone have a response to my question?
What do you have to loose buy having them send you a new 700 and maybe it will run better. What does that have to do witth if you get a 1g later on? Or are you saying have them send you a 1g and pay extra?
There is no such thing as a 10x100 cpu. The PIII-1000 is a 7.5x133 chip.

Actually sir, they just recently came out with 10x100 as well as the 1.13 ghz P3 (10x133). Check www.intel.com for further confirmation if you require that.
Thanks for the info! I just got the latest-I THOUGHT!
Sorry for the bad scoop.
