I had thought that Intel CPUs were speed locked to prevent illegal remarking. Is it just chips that come from a certain plant that can be clocked? Or is it that some motherboards have got around the problem?

Or is Intel speed locking just a myth?

Intel locked the cpu multiplier so people could not sell a p500 as a p600 , But now the o/c is done by chancing the frontbus speed , many newer mobo's let you do this trough the bios and works fine.If you are planning to o/c your system read about it first at this terrific site , you should find all you want to now about o/c.HAVE FUN !!!
