Hi everyone

my pc was running a p3 700@933 1.7v and was running fine for 2 weeks at around 46 c under full load anyway i took my har drive out ibm 20 gig to take round a mates to get some data and when i put the hard drive back into the pc same place the pc wont run at 933 keeps giving me windows protection error plus the cpu was running around 50 c ??? weird anybody got any ideas ??????????/


ps i have took fan off cpu and redone with paste still no joy

Your temps are dangerously high, you should really get some better cooling, if you want to continue onverclocking! Look into Alpha or Global Win, or maybe even the cheap Golden Orb.

As for your harddrive problem, maybe some data was corrupted, when you put it into another computer? Not very likely though, but stranger things have happened.

You could try upping your core voltage some more, I think that will help you out. Go for 1.75v or maybe 1.80, but still - COOLING is very important.

When you re-installed your heatsink, you didn't put too much thermal grease on it, did you? It only needs a very thin and even layer, best applied with a razor blade, or something like that. (Don't use your fingers!)
