i have bh6 motherboard so i have only 112and 103 bus speeds,
my celeron2 600 does ok and stable at 912 2.1 cco stepping,
it does 1008 fine but quake3 crashes after 2 minutes,
i have the feeling it could be stable at 1008, could you please help me?
i coruntly have golden orb and thermal grease, do you think i should put extra fan on the back? or use artic silver?

well, atleast u can get into windows at 1008MHz. Mine is only stable at 928MHz. i'm also using abit bh6 motherboard and a golden orb cooler. hmmm... why can't mine even boot at 1008MHz? maybe u can tell me what else u did to your PC.

eh i dont know how to spell :) but its kinda like a serial number of the celeron, and 2.1 means voltage :)

i did nothing special, except i put thermal grease between cpu&orb, anyway, 1008 does stable until i start 3d games, i feel that the 1 ghz, is near my fingers!!, i need you guys to help me!!
should i mount another fan or something?
will Arctic Silver Adhesive would get me stable at 1008? please help!, cant sleep at nights :(

What temps are you seeing? Are you running the chip at 2.1V? That's design maximum for coppermines and will likely be trouble down the road. Hope no one hits a power pole or trips over your power cord- a little transient action at that point could be bye-bye cpu.

hmmmm.........i'm also using the golden orb cooler with the greese thing but i can only boot it to windows start up screen. i believe mine should be able to get to 1G or more so i'm still trying. either way, i'll try all i can and u do the same. if any of us gets it. we keep in touch. scann69@maxis.net.my

I would consider you lucky to even have 103 MHz bus, my mobo jumps directly from 100 to 112. And my CPU will not post with 112.

I've got the same chip as you. While the cC0's have a better chance at overclocking to a higher speed, not all chips are created equal.

I'm running an Orb myself, same as you, and my Arctic Silver SHOULD (darn well better be....) be in my mailbox tomorrow.

Right now I'm running 105 FSB, or 945 MHz if you prefer. I got three minutes worth of Win ME @ 1008 before I got the blue screen of death, two hours @ 990 MHz. This was at 2.05 Vcore, which is as far as I'm willing to go. I just added a second exaust fan, and will try again w/ the Arctic Silver, but think 945 just might be this chip's limit.

I've seen these CPU's pushed much further than this, but a fair amount of them won't even hit 900, either. I've finally resolved that I'll likely not get to 1 GHz with this one, and can live with 945.

Each one is just a bit different...depends on the specific batch it comes from. I'd like to hit 1008.......

Hey, 600 to 900+ is still pretty darn good. Enjoy it!

BTW.... that 945 is at 1.9 vcore
