windows does not see my new hard drive

It is a 120gb maxtor and i installed it in my system okay. When i boot to windows it says Detecting \ and then says bios for the new hard drive is not isntalled !! ? and keeps loading windows fine. i then click my computer and the new drive is not there. I boot to bios and the new hard drive is set as slave.

how can i fix it?



fdisk does not see it too.

forgot to say that under system device manager the new drive is listed

i forgot i had to partition the new drive first :)
