I was going to get a 2800+ unlocked that I found but I don't have enough for it anymore so I'm looking at 1700+ or a 2100+ I don't know which one to buy, because I have a palomino 1800+ and if the 1700+ is a T-bred A it's not worth it and the 2100+ it is sure to be faster then what I have.

Thanks

I would get a 2500 barton for it's overclockability and performance. IMO the 2500 is the best bang for the buck. If you can find a 2100 tbred pre week 033* then go for that. I have a 2100 tbred B 0302 that has hit really high #'s 2.6+ I did manage to get a screnie with it very close to 2.7 once.

Mine 1800+ is a palomino and the most I got out of it was 100mhz and I'm looking one to overclock, I was going to get a barton but i only have $70 to work with so the less money I spend the more I'll have to get new ram.

You have an 1800+ Palomino overclocked to less than 2000+?

$70?

2100+ Thoroughbred B, newegg.com, $62

Overclocks to as much as 3x00+, go for it.

Id save a lil more money and get the 2800+ i got it with the same board and it rocks. and if you dont want to spend that much my friend has the 2500 and you wont be unhappy with that one either both are very good chips

Ooh, $137 2800+ vs. $62 for a student/minimum wage ("...but i only have $70 to work with so the less money I spend the more I'll have to get new ram") situation...?

Even the 2500+ costs 30% more than 2100+ but since 2500+ is now locked, count on having to get quality PC3200 RAM to be able to raise the FSB way into the 200s to match the locked multiplier.

I was going to get the 2800+ for $125 and I was going to buy it with the money I was supposed to receive to build a system for a friend of mine, I was going to use his money plus mine to get it but he never talked about and I didn't ask, so now I'm trying to get rid of my old ak35gtr with my 1800+ and a geforce2 mx200 but it seems that I'm not the only one without money.

Ooh well I guess it's time to look for a job?lol

trust me and get a 2100+ it beats the 1700+ and the 1800+. look for an AIUHB DUT3C.

check your local bestbuy for them, yesterday i checked mine and they had a bunch of them from even week 8!
