XP: shotdown turns into restart! WTF?!

My inlaws have problems with their new Centrino Laptop. Somewhere during installing their usual working setup (XPhome and all their usual software and proggies) shutting down windows becomes restarting windows?! So both restart and shutdown cause a restart...

Hey this just recently happened to me. It would get right the point where the computer was supposed to shut down..But it would just "loop" and restart....It ended being a faulty power supply. Just my 2 cents...hope it helps!!;)
