I need help getting a stable overclock with my P4 2.4B. My specs are in my sig. I achieved 3.06Ghz but it just stayed frozen at post. It also stayed frozen when I did 2.8Ghz. I ran at 2.7Ghz but I would get blue screens from Windows XP. I run my voltage at stock. How much voltage should I give it to stablize it and will I still get bluescreens after? Give me the low down on overclocking this chip. My goal is to run 3.06Ghz stable with F@H and all that good stuff. I'm on water so heat isn't an issue. I'm fairly new to overclocking P4s so help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Excuse my not know but I have no idea where the PCI lock is located in my BIOS. I read the motherboard manual and it didn't say anything about a PCI lock setting. Maybe it's listed as another name? In what category would it be listed in. Along with CPU frequency settings?

What would be a good voltage setting for my P4?

Don't P4 use dividers instead of PCI lock? I overclocked my Samsung 512MB DDR PC2700 (333Mhz) to PC3200 (400Mhz). What would be a good divider setting and voltage setting to reach 3.06Ghz?

PCI/AGP lock is a lock on the motherboard to keep your PCI/AGP frequencies to 33/66. This is so that you don't ruin your pci cards, video cards, hdd, etc.

You could try upping the voltage by small increments, just try to stay under 1.7 volts. Keep in mind that not all 2.4B chips are great overclockers. There are different steppings for this processor. Generally a C1 stepping processor will overclock better than B0. Most early 2.4B chips are B0 steppings.

Also, when you do get into windows stable, you should check for stability using prime95 to stress your cpu.

good luck

Since you said AGP it hit me which setting everyone has been talking about. I'm going to try it tonight and I hope to get some good overclocks. Thanks
