i recently bought a celeron 566 fcpga and im using it with an abit be6. i have the newest bios installed and it runs perfectly at 566. however i want to overclock it to 100fsb (850mhz). the bios shows that the default voltage (under softmenu2) to be 1.7v. now i know this is wrong because the 566's are supposed to be at 1.5v. Could this be the cause of my slocket? Its a no-name brand slocket. After seeing this problem i purchased an abit slocket to go along with my be6, but it hasnt gotten here. So any help? Is it my slocket? I have pc100 generic ram...wat are my odds of gettin up to 850 or above? thanx everyone.
i think your mobo maybe can only do 1.7 as lowest voltage,.....but it doesn t matter !!!
i have mine at 2.0 and it is still alive !!!

that sounds awfully high!
You're right about the default voltage being 1.5 on the cBO C-566, but I believe the newer cCO C-566 has a default of 1.7v. Can anyone else confirm this? I do know that 1.7v is default for the cCO P-III. Anyway, as long as you have a good cooler, 1.7v will be ok. I run my cBO C-566 at 850 with 1.65v but have to bump it up to 1.75v to 952 (112X8.5). I'll be very surprised if you can't make it run at least 952.

yea the cc0 is 1.7 i ran my cpu 566@850 at 1.8 but it wasnt stable wen playing counterstrike. Windows and all its apps ran perfectly fine for hrs...could heat be the problem? i do have thermal paste and a golden orb, the golden orb is not hot during cpu use. do you think it could be my hd. ihave two hds, one is old, the old 2gig western digital ones. could this be causing my problems?
