I am new to overclocking and I've read all the info, but I just don't know where to start. I have a intell 440zx chipset and running a celeron 366 processor, but when I go into bios I can't find any info. If anyone has done a 366 before or just have any info to get me going I would appreciate it. I keep hearing my pc is easy to do but I just don't know how to do everything. Thanks

Allright here is the deal, 366 are easy to overclock but you need to let us know if it is a Slot 366 or a Socket 366 on a Slocket converter card. Next thing you are going to want to do is up the bus speed one step at a time so that it still boots proper and runs windows stable. Alot of guys recommend running a burn in program to stress test the system and make sure it is stable. It can be a key to getting a few more MHz out of that Celly. Now if your BIOS Also has Vcore options for voltage that is a good thing that will also help you get some more MHz out of it, alot of guys say stick with the 2.17, 2.18 Volt range for that, I have been running 2.2 with no problems for many months I am not recommending it but if all else fails as a matter of stability. Drop me a line and I will be more than happy to help you out in whatever way I can, I think my signature speaks for itself. =) (see below)
Take a peek on your processor and let us know where it was manufactered and the week code, it should be something like an S - code, you can take a peek on the CPU Database and get a ballpark idea for what most have gotten out of that cpu core.
Hope that helps a Bit =)

Ok well it's square so it must be a socket. I opened it up and got the numbers off it but I'm not sure which one to use?
I opened up a computer I was working on *Since I hate messing with mine* lol. Anyway here goes, the layout of the Chip will read like so... (Keep in mind this is an example)
Intel
Celeron
B80524P366
128 SL35S <~The Infamous "S" Code. SL36 Happens to be a bit more overclockable the SL35
Malay
L9160850-1618 <~this is the processor spec line, which will tell you week of manufacturer, Where it came from and etc.
Malay's as a whole overclock better than the chips from the other plants. So if you have a Malay that's a good thing. Now check through some of the site to find out how to deterine your cpu week and then look up on the Database to find out what others have been able to do with it. Write back when you have some more info. Also find out what kind of motherboard you have and etc. that will also determine how overclockable it is.
Hope this helps
Dunno if this is any help, it's something I wrote a coupla years back:

INTEL
agp set
fw82443zx66
L848TC45
SL37A
intel 98
korea
If this is not the right chip to look at could you tell me where to find it on the board. I've also looked all over the board to find out what kind it is and I couldn't find anything execpt MEB-VM. Thanks for all your help guys! Trust me I need it.

I have a wierd feeling you are looking at your Motherboard chipset. To get your Processor info take the heatsink off, and release the Socket lockdown lever by pushing to the left and pulling it up at the same time. (Make sure your case is unplugged from the wall) Touch the rail of your case to ground yourself and then gently pull your processor out of the socket evenly. Pay attention to the way you took it out. You will have to put it back in the same way. Now look at the underside of your processor, copy the information you find underneath it and let us know what it say's. According to Intels Specsheet's Valid S-codes for the Celeron 366 Slot version are gonna to be Either SL35S or SL36C so take a peek and lemme know. E-mail me if you need anymore help with that.
Hope that helps

Hey there everyone, I finally found the right one.I guess it helps when you know where to look!
Intel
Celeron
FV524RX366
128 SL36C
MALAY
L9075320-0819
Well that's a week 07 1999 chip, it was week 15+ when they started getting good for speeds of 550MHz... it might do it with the right cooling and mobo, it might not...

Ive got at 366 with pc100, running at 103 and 566Mhz. This is with my ordinary fan and no extra case fans, maybe i've got a good one. Its completely stable with 98, well as stable as you can expect 98 to be....
