I'm trying to overclock a celeron 600 FCPGA with cC0 stepping. I'm trying to use the golden orb cooler and the ABIT slotket III(on order) on a ABIT BH6 v1.02 slot 1 motherboard. I have the most recent bios update as well. Has anyone had any success with this setup? Any problems using the ABIT slotket III? Will the split plane voltages of the cC0 stepping cause me any problems with this setup? Any help would be appreciated!

I just put a system together last week with a Celeron 600 cCo, Abit Slotket III, and a Golden Orb fan on an Asus P3V4X. I jumpered the Slotket to 1.8V, set the BIOS for the same voltage, cranked the FSB up to 100Mhz, programmed Windows ME, installed all necessary drivers, then played Quake 3 for almost 4 hours (I love that game). So, anyhow, thing is ROCK stable. Has been running non stop for 5 days now, the only time it has locked up is when I tried to push the FSB above 105Mhz.
I have also built that same exact setup with a Celeron 566 (actually about 4 of those). They also like100Mhz FSB, every one of them.
If you want to go above the 100FSB, you may need more cooling...but that may not even help from what I have seen.
Hope that helps.

(new nickname) I know the cC0 has a different pin out than the cB0. Using the abit slotket III did you ever need to do any jumpering of the cpu pins themselves? I've read that people have had to jumper the cpu pins themselves to get the machine to boot. From what I've heard it's the reset pins that need jumpering. Any experience on this matter? Thanks for the help by the way!

I'm running a Celly 600 cC0 on an Abit BH6 SS bios and Abit slockett!!!. I set the slocket to Coppermine and left the voltage at auto. Set voltage to 1.65 (actually .05v under default) in bios and went straight to 928 with no tweaks or troubles at all using retail HSF. I should think a Gorb would be sufficent to cool this setup.

What version of the bh6 are you using? I'm using version 1.02 and I'm worried that the hardware setup mentioned might not work because of that. I have the SS bios as well and it has all the settings to allow 100 FSB but I'm worried about having to jumper cpu pins to get the thing to work. Did you have to do anything like that or did you just plug everything in and it worked fine? thanks

My BH6 is version 1.0. I didn't have to jumper or tweak a single thing. Just plugged it in, upped the FSB and watched it fly. Easiest overclock I've ever done. I have seen others having to bump the voltage up a little bit but mine did not need it. Have fun! If you have any questions, just ask!

Sempie,
i have a C600, BH6 ver 1.0, abit slocket III, latest bios ver SS. I can't up the voltage beyong 1.7V in the bios. I can set the jumper on the slocket to select 1.80V, but the bios only shows 1.70V max.

Can you show me how to set the voltage beyond 1.70V.

Or is my C600 a fake CPU, or is the slocket broken, that's why the bios is not showing voltages above 1.70v?

Lost999,
I believe there was a bios flashing trick involved in getting the higher voltages. You need to set your voltage to the highest setting in the bios then re-flash the latest SS bios. When you enter again you should have higher voltage choices. When I flashed my SS bios, I had a Celeron 300A running at 2.1v so I'm assuming since my voltage was set that high when I flashed, that's how I got voltages up to 1.9v. Any more questions just ask!

i dunno about a trick but my old *cough* machine(bh6 1.0 generic jumperless slotket) runs my 300a @ 450 like nada at default voltage. Now that I have a new machine, when I take one of my vaca's, I am gonna shoot for 500+ outta the ole cele 300. anyway, my point is, I had to reflash my bios with new factory bios from abit when I got my 700E(which I sold when I got the 850E) they have it listed on their website. I think its www.abit-usa.com maybe? check for new versions of bios and you should be ok flashing the new one in for higher bus speeds. I ran the 700E @ 868(124fsb no 1/4 pci divider) via 1.8v for like 6 months till I got new mobo.
G'Luck!

Just wanted to say thanks for the help and information. I got my slotket III in the other day, plugged everything in and got 900 first try, no voltage mods or anything. I'm very pleased. Thanks again Sempei.
