Well I am swapping out motherboards, so I deciede to make a back up copy of my C: drive (windows). I have a 160gig D: drive, so I used "folder clone" to copy my 80gig drive to my 160gig drive. I had about 40 gigs on the C: (80 gig drive) and around 100 gigs on D: (160 gig hd).

It went fine, and after it finished, now my 160gig is not reading! Some things say it's not formatted, some just can't read it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I REALLY hope you guys do. There were a lot of things on this HD that weren't backed up, since I didn't think anything could happen to it.

Both drives are Western Digital 8mb caches.

HELP!!! please

I think the problem is that you no longer have a bootable drive.Because the mbr pointed to the 80 gig drive.Have you tried a repair install using fixmbr?

That is gonna be my last resort.
Ontrack Data recovery found all the files, but I need to pay 200 to be able to copy them.

Recover it all for windows seems to be working, but it takeing forever.

I hope I can get all these files back!

Try this one:

http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/UK/welcome.htm

It runs within Windows and gives UDMA access. You'll need space to save the data.

I dl'ed it, and it seemed to be working. But it said windows wasn't responding. Task manager said the cpu usage was at 99%, so I let it go for about a hour with no luck. Nothing changed a bit :(

I also tryed to change the mdr, but it only asked me to back one up, not to load one. I think since it's corrupt I can't do this (i'm very new to this subject, so correct me if i'm wrong)

I have a new 80gig drive BEGGING to be transferd to! All I need now is the program :(

Looks like i'm gonna have to shell out some money :(
Thanks anyways
