it took 10 days on the phone with abit to straighten that out

reurned the NF7 to abit with return label

2nd rma mobo had "cpu not workable"

requested 3rd rma

and received somebody elses Video card today
and NO IC7-G.

OH YES.

Bought NF7-S in July. Worked fine for about 2 months, then just died. So, I send it back to ABIT in late August. First they couldn't find my payment, now they keep telling me they are working on it......IT"S BEEN FOUR MONTHS.

I'm not touching anything else ABIT. Ever.

Hehe, it is this sort of thing that makes me wonder why I bought another Abit board when I did. I realize that they have a pretty good reputation, but my personal experience with them is like 3 out of the 4 abit boards I have bought have had problems, the current one no exception. I am gonna have to stab myself in the eye if I buy another abit board knowing full well that my luck with them is horrid.

I''ve moved to ASUS, and I hope it works better.

I also had bad experience with Abit BH7. The first one worked about 2 month then HS on north bridge fell off. RMAed it, got second one. It won't boot. RMAed again, now I have my third board. Well at least the third one is working. But it cost me two trips to post office, and $16 for shipping, not to mention my computer down time.

Hehe my Northbridge heatsink fell off too one day. As a stopgap measure I used double stick thermal tape and stuck a tweakmonster BGA ramsink right on the northbridge die. Worked just as well as the original did lol. Anyhow, I didn't want to RMA it because I was lazy and stuff. Finally got around to replacing the tubing in my SC system and decided to fix the NB heatsink at the same time. All it took to fix it was to solder the retaining clip back into the mobo, and for good measure I resoldered the one that was still on anyhow hehe.

i <3 the abit RMA department
cause they are only 5 minutes away from my house, and i can drive down there and harass them

when you get the CPU nonworkable thing, you should be able to boot up, you get that messagse everytime you take the cpu out of the soket and put it back in

abit is great, but their voltage regulations need to be more stringent

I get the "cpu unworkable" error at every bootup.

Ahhh, this is why I let newegg take care of my rma's. I hope it all turns out for the best but look at it this way: If you return it enough you might end up getting someone elses item thats worth more than your motherboard. ;)
