Hi Tim,
Following your suggestion to bring up my system's FSB from 133 to 140 or 145 and also changing Vcore from 1.65v to 1.80 or 1.85v. I did all these changes but my system would post only 770mhz (140 X 5.5). Changing the clock multiplier above x5.5 does not change the cpu speed. CPU speed will change only if I increase the fsb to 150. Do you know why?
Thanks.. Rudy

I'm not Tim, yet this will help dispel the fog. Hopefully! With the exception of some PII 350's, all Intel CPU's since the P133 have a Fixed Multiplier. It's set in stone, and can't be changed. So, x5.5 is it. The only way to OC most Chipzilla CPU's is to add cooling, increase FSB, and increase Core Voltage.

Klosters64a - thanks for your reply.
How come even if I increase voltage to 1.8 or 1.85v, cpu speed won't budge from 770Mhz? Cooling is by Vantec P5030 & Artic Silver thermal grease. FSB is set at 140.

I have a similar mb. take the bus speed up yo 150. this should give you a speed of 825. take the voltage back down to 1.75 you don't need more than that. if you do this when you get into windows load the prog. that came with mb and check temp of processor. then run q3/unreal or othee processor intensive program for 1hr. check tepm again. if temp is more than 65(better be safe than sorry) take settings in bios back down and put in better fan on procesor and make sure that you have at LEAST 2 fans in your case(not counting pwr supply) 1 in and 1 out. better to have 2 fans for each.

jj1701,
Thanks for your input. I will try again to increase fsb setting to 150 as soon as I get hold of the thermal probe I ordered on line. By the way, is it necessary to flash bios as suggested by others who also use this mobo?
