Im kinda anewbie at O/C ing, and there are 2 things I wanna know
1) when I enter my bios, and go to the CPU part, there are a whole buncha options like xxx / xxx
the default setting is 133/33.25, and that gives me 733Mhz, and I was just wondering approximately how high I could go in both feilds without damaging or making it unstable. I can usuall getup to about 780Mhz with 30-35 degrees C

2) Will overclocking my CPU make my CPU last for only like 1 year?

Those numbers represnt FSB/PCi Bus. You apperantly have a P3 EB which means it runs a default FSB of 133 as aposed to 100 on E chips. Every chip is different so no one can tell you how high you can go. but the EB chips usually do not over clock as well because they are already at a high front side bus. Overclocking will shorten CPU life but it should still last for more than a year I have a P3 600@841 for well over a year with no sighns of dieing yet.

Jeff Harrison,

You can't overclock much with your EB type processor. But try your best and keep your eyes on the Vcore temperture. Overclocking does not decrease the CPU life and has nothing to do with it "IF" the CPU temperture is at its safe limit and steady when it's overclocked. Could last as long as if the CPU is not even overclocked..
