I have just bought a second hand PIII 733 Mhz cpu
(733/256/133/1.65)
(Q020A006-0694 SL45Z)

I can change the FSB freq no worries, but when I change the multiplier in the BIOS, it makes no difference at all to the CPU speed, is this chip clock locked?

I am using an AOpen AX34PRO II motherboard Diamond S540 32Mb vid card, and a Golden Orb cooler.
Cheers
Jim

The problem with intelīs processors is that they dont whant people to unlock the multiplier for the CPU only the FSB so i guess that your CPU is the same like everyone elses.....that is that the multiplier is lock and cant be unlock (yet)
I hope u understand my english couse im not so very god at it

Most of the P-II's, plus all of the P-III's and Celerons have locked multipliers.
