help with o/c

i m currently using a slot 1 pen 3 800eb processor
with 256 mb ram (1 toshiba and 1 infineion), asus p3v4x mobo

for some reason, when i try to overclock, the machine won't ever go up higher then 900
the max i got it up to was 888 but it hangs after 3 minutes in windows
the only stabl speed i got it to was 842 but i don't notice ANY difference from original speed,,,,,plus no difference in 3dmark 2000

you say you have 256 ram is it pc100 or pc133? this could be your problem. pc133 will usually get you a higher fsb.

also, you might need to up the cpu voltage a little bit to make it more stable.

the ram i m using is pc133

the toshiba ram is 7 ns and the infineon ram is 7.5 ns
