Ok.
First I got two 160 gigs, have onboard highpoint raid.
Soyo kt 400 dragon ultra.
I put them both on the raid channel ( ide 3 ) then enabled it in bios.
Booted up, stalled at detecting devices screen.
Disabled raid, booted into windows.
Reinstalled highpoint drivers.
Booted again.
Nada.
Gonna throw this thing out the window.

Ok, hope you haven't thrown them out the window yet.:)
I've been doin' a bit of looking around and can't figure out if that MB only has one RAID connector. Does it have one or two? If it has two, there's your problem. There should be one drive connected to each of the RAID connectors, both set to master.
Otherwise, 'fraid I can't help, I'm not familiar with one-connector RAID setups.
It also seems your trying to set up RAID with windows preinstalled on one of the drives right? It's always preferable to start off with two formatted drives.

These are actually 3rd and 4th drives.
And I am testing out the raid channels on the mobo.
If that fails just going to get a card.
Seems easy enough.

I have a KT-400 Black Edition with the same RAID controller.
Connect one drive as master on IDE 3 and the other as master on IDE 4 (some drives require you to use the factory default setting of cable select).
Press Ctrl+H to enter the RAID BIOS utility during boot up.
Create whatever array you like. Set the stripe size and save changes.
Make sure you have the RAID drivers on a floppy disk and load your O.S.
My board required a BIOS update before I could use the RAID channels. Without it, the RAID BIOS would hang after detecting the drives (non-RAID configuration).
Good luck!
