View Full Version : Ocing results with faster 133MHz CPUs

With the prices dropping I am thinking about bilding a 160+/-MHz system.

Are there possibly some people here that have not yet posted their results in the CPU database, that have overclocked 866s, 933s and 1GHz PIIIs?

What results did you achieve? How about memory throughput at higher FSB and what are you SETI times?

Thanks

I database is a bit old right now and needs updating thats for sure. Y would you want to go with the 133 , you are limiting the overclockabilty of the chip straight away. Go for a 100Mhz !

For pure performance I think the 1ghz p3 is a great idea when o\ced to say 1100 or higher!
It would be much easier to have that 1ghz obviosly, and maybe even more!

I think I might even get a 1 ghz instead of this 700 that just wont go over 910 if my life depended on it,even though everything else in my pc is capable of more speed.

I've got a PIII 866 cBO stepping..

Im running it @ 1007 MHz, 155 MHz FSB @ default voltage..

I have got it to boot and up running win2k in 1072 MHz. But it wasn't really that stable.. (that was with 1.9 Voltage)

I agree in principle, but given that +/-1GHz is the current limit for cumine, the only way to improve speed is by taking up the FSB as high as possible. A 133MHz CPU will be guaranteed to run at the FSB speed at 1.65V, so a lot of room for improvements (#:o)). A PIII866 running at 1050 (with luck) would require about 160MHz.

At least SETI benefits greatly from faster FSB

...i m sad with my slot 1 pen3 800eb...
couldn't get anything higher than 876....
couldn't up the voltage on the board for some reason....so no more o/c ing for me unless i help change the voltage....

Skyline,

Checkout my reply in this forum under the 700OC - to up the
voltage or not ? thread.

I got my 800eb running at 901/150fsb at stock voltage after
tweaking some of the BIOS settings.
