I recently saw an add for a celeronII 600 clocked to 1ghz. Now I know this can be done, buy my impression has been that to do that you would be in need of at least a peltier device and maybe a watercooling system, however the add says is comes with a golden orb and that would be surfficient, and that just doesn't seem like it'd work. I'd just like to know if you think this is a hoax or not.
There are a small percentage that will make it that far. The odds on walking into a store and buying one, or ordering one mail order and having it run that fast are slim, but so is the lottery- people win it all the time.
In a pre-tested cpu (as I'm sure youare talking about)- it ran with whatever components the tester was using, but it may not be so happy with yours, so it's still a crapshoot!
Bought mine "pre-tested", as it's my first o/c'ed chip. Got the Celley II 600, guarranteed to 945 MHz.
I got 945 alright, and maybe more. It'll run 990 for a while before I lock up (about 2-3 hours). I'm running 1.9 v @ 945, and 2.05 for 990.
Waiting for the Arctic Silver to shoot for the Gig......
Yeah, it can be done w/ the Celemine.
