i'm new and havent oc'ed yet because i have a few questions;

i have a pentium 3 500, when i go into the bios and goto the processor settings where the multipliers are
and without going to the manual settings the hihgest speed is 600, is that the highest processor for my mother board?

also, if i overclocked my cpu,(500mhz p3) is heat the only thing that could burn out my computer. in other words if i put in loads of fans and made my computer really cold would my computer be safe and/or stable at the higest speed?

i am new to overclocking so try to undestand what im saying please

intel has locked the multiplyers so you cant oc like that.....you can push the fsb ...you'll find that under host/pci clock settings or something simmilar...im going to assume its a 100mhz board? ok then slowly up the fsb and try it out if its rock solid stable go higher untill the bluescreens become too much....if there are too many blue screens you may have to up the voltage a bit...refer to your mobo manual to figure out how...best of luck (next time choose amd :) )
