i need instructions on how to overclock my PC. i also need to know how far to overclock it to. can i push it past 400Mhz. I think that my processor # is SL265 Please give me detailed instructions on how to overclock.
You may be able to get to 400 if it's one of the rare PII 266's that was made with the deshutes core but even then you might have to disable your L2 cache. If it's a Klamoth core thens theres a good chance that it isn't multiplyer locked but it may be limited, this means you won't be able to go above a 4x multiplyer but you can lower it to 3.5x or 3x on a 100mhz bus. 300mhz is almost a cert for these procs which you can do leaving it on a 4x muliplyer with a 75mhz fsb or lowering to a 3x muliplyer on a 100mhz fsb. I would only go for 75 though if you processor is multiplyer locked.
