speaker set up...

hey guys i was wondering about hooking my dvd player to my pc speakers, i have the altec xa3021. would i need a reciever? or can i just hook it up to the pc anyone kno how to hook it up?

you are going to need some convertors.

you can use RCA jacks with a RCA > Mini convertor to plug it into the Line In on your sound card.

or you can skip the computer altogether and use a rca > mini convertor and directly plug in the stereo (green) jack from your speakers.

if you are trying to do 5.1 surround i'm afraid you aren't going to be able to unless your card has optical or coaxial digital in, which most soundcards do not have.
