I´m having problems to overclock my P3 500, I can´t enter either to Win or Linux when I change the FSB speed on the Soyo 6BA + IV menu. The Bios is updated and I have 425 mb of SDRAMM PC 100 and PC 133 (I only have one dimm of 256 SDRAMM PC 133)
Please, I´m tired to change the settings and I can´t figure out what I´m doing wrong.
Thanks

You might try this:
Remove all but one dimm and set you FSB to just one step up from 100. try to boot. If successful go one more step up. Repeat until you fail. Then up your V-core one step up until you can boot again. WATCH YOUR TEMPS!! Don't let them go above around 42C- at idel.

If you can boot at all above stock settings remove all you cards except the Video card and try again. Good luck.

Some of that PC100 may not be upto it. Get rid of that out of the equation and then try.

If it is that this is a Katmai processor, you won't get much anyway. If a Coppermine - there should be loads left in it.

If a Katmai do not exceed 2.20v, and if a Coppermine do not exceed 1.90v. Remember that the temeperature stated by Daniel is a good safe top end - do not exceed it. You may damage your chip if you do.
