hi there, i'm running my celly600@900 with 1.6V... now everythings fine ( temp cpu/board/GORB ) doin some office stuff, but playing 3D it crashes sometimes... now my problem is, i can't upp the voltage on my board ( ASUS CUBX ) higher than 1.6 without windowsME freezing after load... do you think this a mobo-problem or has it something to do with win ?! by the way do you think upping the voltage is the key for more stability ( as i see the database, everybody with a cBo celly is at least around 1.65 to 1.7 volt...) so anybody with some tips please post and help me, cause i would like to see this crappy cpu to run at 900 ... ;-)

there is a good chance it is win me. 98 is much much more stable as is 98se when o/cing. NEVER i mean NEVER use me, u will get errors now and then more often then anyother operating system If you want even better stablitlty use WIN 2000. The only thing, it doesn't work with most games and the ones it works wth, degraded performance. I am sure you can get that chip to 1 ghz come on!!! Slap a good heatsink/fan combo and really o/c this monster. I wish i had a Celeron II 600. I have a Celeron II 700 @ 877 right now and trying to get to 1.06ghz and it just won't go!!! I will keep trying tho.!!!

Windows ME = More Errors. Probably the main thing is that you need right now is more cooling, because when you bump your voltage up to where it needs to be to run stable, it gets too hot and then that causes problems. Trust me, I've been there and done that. Once you have better cooling, than you can goose your voltage. A C-600 should go to at least 900 without too much work. That's the secret with Celly's: first, good cooling and second, bumping up the voltage.

I´m currently runnig my 600@900. I had problems like yours in the past but I found out that my MOBO (AOpen AX6BC) put the AGP divider to 1/1 since the CPU was a 66Mhz from the beginnig. This resulted in the AGP going at 100MHz and games froze instantly. Download SiSoft Sandra and check your AGP speed. If it is 100Mhz find the jumper to set it to 2/3 and maybe your gonna be lucky. It worked for me.

Sandra can be found at:

You won't go at any higher voltages with CUBX.
It doesn't like over 1.65v
So CUBX and Celly2 combination SUCKS! I had this combo, but i switched CUBX for a CUSL2-C which runs JUST FINE @927 MHz with 1.95v

ohhh nooo!!!
i bought this ****y mobo just a few weeks ago... so you think it's always the better solution with slot1 mobo and a slocket like abit or msi ?!
well is it possible to set up a slocket with the GORB or do i loose some dimms ? what hsf do you use ?! thanks anyway for the help... i will try to find some cheap slot1 mobo somewhere when it's workin' then...
try on and on ;-)

ok ok, my fault, i know the cusl is a socket 370 board *g*, so you have no problems with upping the voltage ?! what stepping is your celly? is your default voltage 1.5 or 1.7V?! it would be nice to hear from you !! btw you can post your configuration too... so long

My best O/C experience was with a P3B-F, with a socket-slot adapter, I guess the cooler works better this way.

CUSL2 allows you to up the voltaje with max .3v

I have a CC0 with 1.7 default v. I did the wire trick and the default v now is 1.8. It's best with 1.7v 'cose u can go anywhare from 1.7-2.05 (default voltage) without bending any pins

It boots up to 981, but I keep it at 927 to be perfectly stable (at 945 i get some lockups every 2-3h)
I'll get another bigger cooler this week and try 1GHz.

u should this mobo, it really rocks. It should cost you something like +20-25$ for a upgrade to it.

Here r my specs:
CUSL2-C
Cel600@927 (had a Cel566@900 and more 566 Cellys in the past)
192 MB RAM PQI
30 GB IMB@7200
SB Live Value
3D Prophet 2 MX
