View Full Version : C-533A cCO chip???
Is there such a critter as a Celeron 533A with the cCo stepping? If so, I was thinking about buying one to see if I could get it to run at 133 fsb for 1064 MHz.
I can't get my C-566 cBO to run stable above 1 gig. I shouldn't really complain, it runs perfectly stable at 950 playing Unreal.
I suppose I should go with the C-600, but seems like everyone has one of those. Perhaps a C-633X112 for 1064? As you can see, I really have my heart set on reaching 1064 MHz.
According to Intel's site, they were only made in cb0 stepping. The 566 is made in cc0 though.
Thanks Tim, you are one of my O/C heros! I just looked at the Intel sspec page too. Don't know why I didn't think of that before I posted. You're right, no cCO 533 chip. Oh guano!
I just got my Income tax refund back, so I fell rich. I think I might just buy one retail C-600 cCO and one retail C-633 cCO and see if I can lucky with at least one of them. A buddy says he'll buy my C-566 or one of the new CPUs if it'll do at least 100 fsb, so it's not like I'm going to be stuck with a bunch of idle processors.
By the way Tim, you were one of them that guessed I had a temp problem when I first joined and turns out you were right. After a lot of hard work, I have a cool running rig now. Overclocked to 850 after running the Unreal loop for 15 minutes, CPU temp is now a mere 32.5 and system temp is 24 (was 40 and 35 a month ago). I think it was you that turned me on to the wire trick for a little more voltage too. Thanks, man...I need to buy you a brew someday. This whole forum rocks, I've learned a lot.
Thanks for the kind words. Always glad to help!
Tim
Yeh, the Celly 533a was stopped being produced a couple months ago...some time in Oct. or Nov. I believe. This was pre-cc0 era so there wouldn't be any.

The cC0 533a did exist in small quantites (smaller than the cB0 ever was) for a period of approximatley 4 weeks. It has only just been removed from Intel's databases. It was the SL4PD.
Ultimate Monster.
Obviously the next best thing is the 566 cC0.
Cool, would've liked to have had one of those.
