Celeron II 700 is going to goto 1.06ghz whether it wants to or not!!! HELP!!!

I am still stuck with this Celeron II 700 @ 877 and want it to goto 1.06ghz (the next step for the ASUS P3V4X) and will do anything but change my cooling. If that is one of your suggestions please tell me anyway, i might look into a peltier l8tr on. I have a MSI 6905 MAster slotkey which allows me to set the voltage to 2.5v and still no post on 100fsb. I have been burning in with my crap slotkey @ 2.0v and after 2 days i tryed posting and still no go. I have lapped my heatsink and chip, getting 76-80F 25-27 C idle @ 1.65v (1.7v default) and i just don't get it. I know that some chips won't do it but i just know it that this one will!!! This chip is such a BITCH thats why i can't get rid of it lol. Please help and give any i mean any suggestions at all. HERE IS MY SETUP :

ASUS P3V4X (WINBOND CHIPSET 66, 75, 83, 100 ETC)
CELERON II 700 @ 877 1.65V
64MB PC100 (INFINEON 7NS RUNNING @ 133) 128MB PC133 (CRUCIAL @ 133)
10 GB 5400 RPM 10GB 7200 RPM
ANY SUGGESTIONS? I REALLY WANT THIS!!!!

Have you tried this chip in another MB? If it performs similarly in another MB it's likely the core topping out, and it just may not go. 1GHz on a Celeron is not an everyday occurance. There are some around, but the vast majority don't go much beyond 900 MHz.

Thanx for replying TIM!!! Hows your vp6-dual p3 700's working out? did u ever get them both to 1050? Yea, i really want this chip to hit 1.06ghz, i would be happy with 950, but my mobo doesn't have the fsb's for that!!! I don't have another motherboard to test it on!!! I am only 15 and my next door nieghbor has an hp with basically the same motherboard, and no one else really knows about o/cing!!! I AM TRYING TO SPREAD MY KNOWLEDGE THROUGHOUT MY SCHOOL THO!!!

THIS SUX!!! I just got my report card today and i got 2 c's 1 c+ and a b-!!! I spend too much time playing with my computer, i can't concentrate on school!!! LoL thats pretty pethetic heh? I really want to start my own bussiness!!! I am taking computers this term lol, they're trying to teach me to type LoL. THANX!!!

Do yourself a favor. Those grades are much more important in the long run than 129 MHz. I wish I'd paid a lot more attention in school when I was there.............

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to lecture here. Just a bit of advice form someone who would love a second shot at it.

Don't worry you didn't offend me or anything. I understand what your saying. but because i goto Catholic school, the grading system all screwed up. For example, in my old public school a c = 74-76 no a c = 78-80 a c+ in public school was 77-79 in my school now it is 81-83 etc. I did good in all my classes just my finals messed me up.

ANDY UR HERE!!! i just thought i would give it another chance, i never bought that p3 700, i bought some 128mb of pc133 and some peltiers for my radeon, i am gonna to peltierize a 64mb radeon, i only have the 32mb right now. I REALLY WANT THIS!!!

I'd go w/ a Celeron 600, the slightly higher multiplier (9 vs 8.5 w/ the 566) will yield higher results.

There's a TON of "pre-tested" 600 chips on e-BAY right now. All hit 900, quite a few to and past 1 GHz........ Starting price is usually around $89.

Thats how I got my 1st one. got an untested chip in the mail, another cC0 600 Now that I have a better idea on what I'm doing, I'll play w a new one and have the fun myself. (now that I know I won't fry it!!)
