I OC my PIII600EB sock370 to 747 (4.5x166) and it run very stable. But the problem is the temp is quite high. About 46 if idle and 58 after 15' load high. I don't know if it's too high.
Please tell me the best temp of the CPU. Even if I don't OC, the temp still about 46 - 50. The mainboard temp is about 25-27, I think it's not a problem.

High 50's(58C) seem a bit high on my side, although intel specs are around 70-80C I wouldn't recommned keeping temps like that too long.
A few things you should check for:
-is the airflow in your case good? i.e. a casefan should take in air from the front and another casefan at the back to ventilate the hot air out. If you don't have any fans, try taking the case off(this usually reduces temps up to 10C)
-Is the surface of the heatsink completely flat?, even the slightest bit will reduce heat transfer, you should try lapping the heatsink or add thermal paste(artic silver/silicone) Also check that nothing else is stuck betteen the heatsink and cpu core(i.e. tape/plastic covers)
-Is the fan on the heatsink getting enough airspace?(ie. not to close to ram/casing other cards) else it will just be blowing back hot air onto the cpu. oh be sure that the air is blowing onto the cpu(not out).
-Finally how high is you core voltage? if its in the 1.9-2.0V and you can't use a lower voltage for stability then you might want to look into water cooling/ or peltiers.
Well hope any of these basic check list works, other than that maybe it's just that the cpu doesn't wanna run at that high FSB speed with low temps.
Good luck Ocing, Have fun!

Thanx for your help, and there're somethings I one to ask you more.
-I think the airflow is good, I've take off the case, and there isn't any Ram or Card that may hold back hot air. I haven't got any casefan but I add myself one more fan for the chipset on the mobo, and another very big fan blow direct to the CPU.
-So that, I think I should add some thermal compound between the CPU and the heatsink, but in Vietnam, it's very difficult to find some thermal compound, so is it good if I use silicone instead?
-And I list here some information bout my PC, can you show me anything that I can do for my poor PC.
+MB: MSI 815E Pro (MS-6337)
+CPU: PIII 600EB sock370 (Box)
+Ram: 128Mb PC133 (2x64)
I try to OC step by step and finally it reach to bus166 without any problem, except I have to use 100 memory bus.
The result:
+CPU: 747(4.5x166)
+Ram: PC124 (3/4x166)

Ohhh God, please not silicone!!!!
One thing my electronics teacher told me was never to use silicone close to electronics unless I had to and it was the right brand. The thinner in some types of silicone never really gets out. It satys in for a long time in the lump and slowly damages all integrated circutry in your machine. USE WITH CAUTION!
I would agree that the temp is too high. I´m running my Cely2600 at 900Mhz and the current temp is.....28C at full load (SETI running). If you can´t find thermal grease, consider a new heatsink/fan. They usually come with grease on them.
Hope this helps.

Hmm, Do not try to use pure silicone, you need the silcone thermal grease, if you can purchase it online, do so(around$2US). Try www.pcnut.com
It must get hot out in Vietnam, the temperatures might drop 3-5C with the grease, but still worth it for the cost of the cpu. Air in your room needs to be sufficiently lower than the cpu core temp. I'd probably want to stick with a lower voltage. Try 1.8V (note: although 1.85V would in theory give more stability than 1.8V, MSI-6337 has some problem handling the higher voltage)
If the system is still stable at 1.8V, then try 1.75V, at each drop in voltage the temperatures will drop, just be sure its stable before each drop.

My CPU's core voltage is 1.65v and is usually report at about 1.6v.
I think maybe the fan included with my PIII is not enough to cool down my OCed CPU. I'll buy another and attached it to my CPU.
And there's something more I want to ask:
+ Now I only run with 1 CPU fan, 1 mainboard fan (selfmade, but quite good, since the mainboard never do more 30C), and 1 big fan blow in from outside the opened case. I don't like to see my case open. So I think about attached 5 more fan to the case, doesn't it help.
1 in front (take in)
2 from the side blow to CPU and AGP
1 use as a chimney (take out)

it is hot in Viet Nam and also you don't have an OC rated heatsink. I'm afraid big fan blow into the case won't help that much. Try buy some good heatsink for your CPU like global win fop38, thelmatake super orb or alpha. Basic rule is get a bigger heatsink and faster heatsink fan.

Also you can try running cpu idle software to cool your cpu during computer idle if you are not using win milenium of win 2000 OS

Thanx for all that help!
I'm going to use bigger heatsink with 120mm fan to cool down my CPU. Wish my CPU not to be frozen, ^_^.
And is it safe to oc from 600 to 747 (i like that speed, it sound like a boeing) with a good temp (at about 35-40, maybe more cooler).

i stay in singapore where the ambient temp is around 27-34ºC, humidity at 60-95% (u won't believe the amt of condensation u can get with a TEC!) i think yours shouldnt be too far off.... in that case u need the best aircooled heatsink available, that means either the alpha pep66 or fop-38, nothing less... even so, i find my IDLE temp (pep66 alone) on a hot afternoon is close to 40ºC which is not good at all..
get arctic silver.. we need all the help we can get in the tropics.. i had to mail order it... pay attention to details.. every degree counts in overclocking, good luck!
