View Full Version : Ramping Up...Again!
Well I must have been a good boy this past year. Santa didn't leave me a lump of coal in my stocking, instead he left some nice hardware! Like a new NF7-S (another...just love that mobo, it's my 3rd), 530w Fortron psu, and several other assorted goodies. So now I have the rest of the componets to go with that 1800+ that I got from Excaliber. It'll be good for at least 2.3ghz, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get 2.5 out of it. Had an "old" broke computer given to me. The guy said it was junk. I took the cover off of it and just tightened a couple of screws that hold the power switch onto it. Fired it up, & it ran great! It's an old AMD K-6 500mhz with an 8gig hdd. Looks like a good folding rig to me. All I need to get it up & folding is the nic card I just ordered from Newegg. So by the first of the week, I'll have another 3gigs up & folding 24/7 to go with the other 12 gigs I already have. And I also have a few borgs out that should start cranking out some extra wu's. So at least I'm going to start the new year out right.
Nice one!
I am hitting a bit of a dead end myself, I have a K6-2-350 which I need an AT K/B for and a dead Duron700/KT7/128MB rig that wont boot for some reason but I get paid tomorrow so should be able to afford the bits to fix it up :)

I have an AT keyboard. I'd let you use it if my k6-2+ didn't use AT form factor. I don't think you can even find AT keyboards at any used pc place. I went looking for one and couldn't find any around, untill my mom found one in our garage. Good luck finding one.
Thanks, but no problem.....it came with the keyboard & mouse. So I'm good to go as soon as my network card gets here. Ordered it from Newegg, so it'll be here by Monday. Happy New Year to ya!!!!!!! Just stay safe......DON'T DRINK & DRIVE or LET ANYONE ELSE DO IT!!!!!!!
