i have about 100 dollars to spend on my computer
i just got abit bx6 r1 motherboard from cousin for free and trying to upgrade my old 233mmx. im going to spend about 50 dollars on rams and 50 dollars on cpu
but also my cousin is selling 5 slot 1 celeron 333 for 20 dollars
and i saw celeron 2 533 for 58 dollars at pricewatch.
should i get slot 1 celeron 333 and get (globalwin or golden orb)
Or just get celeron 533 for 58 dollars
if i get celeron 533 i dont have money to buy globalwin or golden orb to overclock
which one is better?
sorry about my grammers =)
-God i love this web site!
Well, the 333 could probably get you 500MHz on an overclock...maybe not. The 300a's were very good, probably the best ratio clock of all time. This may be a good chip, I don't know.
I have a 533a and it did 800 with a little work but runs flawlessly now at default voltage...also did it with stock hs/fan.
Just weigh your options. The 533 will be comparable to the 333@500...close but not quite. You could save about $30 bucks and down the road get some adequate cooling and hit that 533@800. It may even do it with stock cooling.
You're pretty much taking a crap shoot either way but I would go with the 533. Even if you don't get 800 you should get high 700's. Still better than the 333@500, my opinion.
Definitely go for the 533- it will be faster at default settings, and when overclocked there is no comparison!
From my experience i would say go with the 533. I run a celeron 333@ 533 but i went through two 366's before i got a stable overclockable celeron@ 100Mhz fsb. I can get the 333 to 566, but do not have a sound card then. But still the 533 cerleron has more potential.
There's a guy @ e-BAY that sells nothing but pretested cC0 Celeron 600's. His name is David Blann. (e-BAY ID jdblann)
I got one from him that runs 600 @ 945 MHz and paid:
600 cC0 Celeron II....................$89.00
Soltek SL02A++ slocket..........$17.00
Golden Orb................................$17.00
shipping......................................$8.0 0
---------------------------------------------------
total............................................$ 131.00
This was pre-assembled ready to plug right in. His chips start at 600 @ 900, and go up to 972 MHz for $89. Higher, 990+ MHz chips cost more. He had one recently 1062MHz/$129.00 (chip only).
Great guy to buy a chip from. Quick shipping too.
I know its a bit more than $100.........just someting to think about.
