got my 700 to run at 933 at 1.75V and no more no less voltage no matter which heat sink I used. After 3 months the damn cpu can only do 840 and it is hotter than before. So for this cpu burn in does not work.
My old 366 celery was the same also it use to run 560 at 2.0V and now it can only do 550 regardless which voltage setting. that is on alpha heatsink. anybody knows why these things happened.
btw I have OC more than 30 cpus so far and these phenomenons keep happening on about 10 cpu so far. My only guess is that heat and Electro migration have damage the chip somehow and it would not work at all time high speed anymore.
what do you folks experience?

change in ambient temperature? I really have no idea - I have heard of this, and in my opinion it's just more evidence against "burn-in"

On my system (as seen below) I had it 1.75 @933 for the burn in, then after a while I turned it up to 1008mhz @1.85v. It runns cooler now with the same fan on it at 1ghz@1.85 than it did at 933@1.75. So go figure the total avg temp is downabout 10c!! runs fine, don't notice any differenc except in benchmarks and then not much. I'm happy with it. Could use a diff vidcard but I'll just hang out till this thing starts to bother me, everything cool so far.

Same problem here. PII700 originally did well over 1GHz@1.9V, cooled with Alpha even in Summer temps did never exceed 45C. Now Iam barely holding on to 966@1.9V. Temps are down 37C, but I think with the 0.18 micron structures there is a possibility that electomigration really leads to premature aging. No problem if the chip runs well at low voltages, but an issue if you have to push it.
