View Full Version : I got a P3 850E brand new how high can I get it to go

Hi guys I am using pc133 cas3 ram on an asus CUSL2 board and I just bought a brand new P3 850E 100mhz fsb I am also using an FOP32 with arctic sillver paste, any idea on how high I will be able to take this chip??? Also how should I burn it in? Thx for all help

ps. I like to keep the case cover closed since otherwise the computer is too loud I hope its not a big problem please comment

you need to check if your 850e is a cCo stepping. If it is Overclocking should be easier. Check the CPU database on www.overclockers.com for results from others to see what they can make their 850's do. Some of the nice burn-in tests are prime95, seti@home, 3dmark 2000 (i use all 3). You should get Motherboard monitor to check temps in windows. A tip on overclocking; GO SLOW, do your burn in's, retry at higher speed, do more burn in, and Always check the temps. DON'T up the voltage all the way and max the fsb. Good luck. some pc133 ram might help. have fun. oh.. and burning in- there is no set time period, some take weeks of burning in.

Have mine running 100% stable @ 1190mhz.
Have hit 1270mhz, but cant get into windows..need more voltage !!
