Right now i'm running seti. hoping that it will up my clock speed without having to do any other adjustments. Is this false hope or will my clock speed actually get higher?

It's hard to say!,I'm not a big believer in "Burn in"but some people are.
I always find that what it does out of the box is probably within 25 or so mhz of what it will do after a good burn in!
So,yes it might make it go a little faster, but probably not as much as some good cooling or better memory, etc.

I always us Prime95 for burnin using the torture test feature. The temps for burnin are about 5-10C higher than Seti. I was only getting 933 before burnin out of my 700. Still had to up voltage to 1.90 but could not get 1Ghz at all before burnin. Some believe that the burnin helps to seat the compound and that is what give the increase due to better contact and cooling. Don't know why but the burnin has always helped me do a little more.

i found that my 800e cco basicly got its max bran new but the 133 hours of seti allow me to get the same results with less core voltage." hooked on seti worked for me" :) have fun
