Hey all, ive got a problem...the sound on my bro's asus a7v133 well...blows

so i need just a cheap sound card that will output more than one channel, and by that i mean u can play more than one audio application at a time and hear both, like winamp and a game

i dont need surround sound because he is just using 2 regular desktop speakers, i just need some cheap audio that has decent sound quality, the sound quality from the onboard sound wont even do low-end sound correct...it comes out all distorted

so i need some advice on what to buy, the two sites im looking at is directron and newegg

go to radioshack get a soundcard that is in your budget they work well. remeber to disable your other sound card if it in onboard in the bios

but the problem is...do the uber-cheap ones (like 10 dollars) have good enough sound quality? i wasnt it at least to play mroe than one audio app at once

if you look hard enough you can get a oem audigy2 for around 55 to 60.
